FIRE & SMOKE ALARM INSTALLATIONS IN YORKSHIRE

FIRE SAFETY REGULATIONS & ADVICE

It is important to know when you need to test your safety equipment. Keeping everything up to date and in working order is the best way to keep your home or business safe. For more on our services and how we can help you, take a look at our fire protection services.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

You should have your fire alarm system tested at least every 6 months.
This is recommended not only by us, but in BS 5839. Also, it is critical to remember to do a weekly fire test too!

EMERGENCY LIGHTING

Emergency lighting should be given a complete rated duration test annually. Your lights should be able to stay illuminated for a minimum of 3 hours. Ensuring that your escape lighting is regularly tested is a statutory requirement for all building owners and employers under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, along with other legislations that apply to the duty holders.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

Your fire extinguishers need to be serviced every 12 months with a “basic service”, according to BS5306-6. It is best practice for this service to be done by an accredited fire extinguisher technician, using the correct tools and skills.

FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS

To improve the safety of your building, a fire risk assessment should be completed once a year or when there has been a significant change to the environment. This has been stated in Article 9, (3) of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It is important that this is carried out by a professional.

So, if you need fire alarm installation in Yorkshire or the surrounding areas, or perhaps you would like to discuss these regulations, get in touch with us today.
